500 Club (5/31)

Welcome back! The heat is rising as schools are letting out, and parents around the country are wondering what to do with their children. Want to get in some writing time, but don’t know if your kids will allow it? Why not have them do it too? It’s never too early to catch the writing bug.

Here’s what to do:

  1. Write 500 words based on one of the two prompts below.
  2. Post it to your blog.
  3. Give us a small taste in the comments below along with a link to the full text. If your kid produced something fun, why not share as well.

On to the prompts.

1. Finish this opener: This would be the last report card Hanna would ever bring home. At thirteen she knew she should let her parents open it, but she just couldn’t help herself. Oh, how she wish she had.

2. Five Things: Write 500 words using all five of the following things: a toe nail clipper, a mouse, an apple core, jumping jacks, and a dented flute.
