500 Club (8/16)
Happy Thursday, everybody! It’s time for some hot promptin’ action.
Rules you say? Rules! We don’t need no stinking rules! (Yes, yes we do):
- Write 500 words based on one of the two prompts below.
- Post it to your blog.
- Hit us with the first line or two in the comments, and link back to your blog so that we can read the rest.
Ready? Set? Here they come!
1. Day and Night: Write a story about a person who has a secret identity. Try to make it something really surprising, like a pastor who is also a warlock, or cuddly grandma who runs a crime syndicate.
2. Try this opener: He glanced over the crumpled ones and fives scattered across his bedspread — not enough, not even close to enough. Time for Plan B.
Have fun and happy writing!

This is a great idea, I will give it a try. Thanks for the idea.
I hope you have fun with it!
Wendell Millbern was parked outside the Principal’s office again today — head down, sniffling, looking simultaneously tough and ragdoll-broken — while I was replacing light bulbs in ‘A’ hall.
He isn’t a bad kid. He’s just acting out. I decided the bulbs in his general vicinity needed special attention.

I loved this, especially the voice of the janitor-narrator. Big thumbs up.
