500 Club (8.15.13)
This is the most wonderful part of the year for most parents. Our kids go back to school! Let’s celebrate by writing something, anything. With the kids out of the house, we should reach that zen-writing state much quicker.
What to do:
- Write 500 words based on one of the two prompts below.
- Post it to your blog.
- Give us a small taste in the comments below along with a link to the full text.
On to the prompts.
1. Finish This Opener: Johnny checked to see if his mom packed his backpack: lunch, books, brass knuckles, pencil case, a green tutu, and a water bottle. Yep, the usual.
2. Senseless: Try writing 500 words without using the sense of sight. No colors. No visual references. Just everything else.
As always, throw out the obvious. Embrace your creativity and try something new. And above all, have fun with it.
