First Chris did not approach the kids with money. It was Monk. Secondly Michael’s step father did not demand him to pay him money from the street to stay in the house. He told him he could no longer hold his mother’s DSS card (welfare money) and that he would take care of it from now on. Also if you ever read the commentary from the creator he said that Chris was indeed molested in his childhood.

I write in a quiet pub with a notebook and pen, this also reduces Internet distraction.

Have you read Save the Cat? I found it useful when it comes to plot.

Right now I am stuck with the opposite problem. I know my characters but am struggling with the plot.

A little encouragement goes a long way. I might give that a try, keeping it vague. Thanks for sharing that!

Because I consider all of it subject to change, and in few cases is sharing useful. But sometimes it helps to have someone say, when I’m doubting, “that’s really cool, I can’t wait to read it.” Those moments of “is this worth my attention?” sometimes do come up, and it’s nice to have the “that sounds cool” ‘s to go on when they do. 🙂

I learned that lesson when I decided to fully outline a novel. I finished it and then had no desire to write it because I already knew what was going to happen.
