I’m sitting in a cafe. It’s a blustery day and the news is of snow in the midwest and turmoil in the Middle East. I’ve just finished rewriting a chapter of my WiP. I’m beginning to see why some say the magic happens in revisions. And I’m beginning to think Laraine Herring was on to something when she suggested throwing out the first draft entirely. I’m also completely smitten with my magic wall, and even more so with the cards stuck on it. I have several projects in the works and I’m excited to see where they lead.
In other words, things are going well.
Because I don’t have much to share here, I will direct you instead to this post about Sara Zarr’s keynote speech at the SCBWI conference in New York this last weekend. I hope you find it as encouraging as I did.
