500 Club (4/28/11)

Thursdays here and so are you. Are you ready for another jump off the creative diving board? Beautiful swan dives are just as welcome torrential cannon balls. Whatever you choose, as long as you’re dipping your toes in the creative waters, how can you go wrong?

This week I’ll be your lifeguard, so let’s start with the creative pool rules.

The rules:

  1. Write 500 words based on one of the two prompts below. I doubt you’ll be able to use both this week. Feel free to try to prove me wrong.
  2. Post it to your blog.
  3. Give us a small taste in the comments below along with a link to the full text.

As long as you haven’t eaten in the last thirty minutes, you should be ready to tackle this week’s prompts.

1. Write a dialog between two characters. At the same time, have those character doing something completely unrelated to what they are talking about.

2. Often times our thoughts don’t line up with what we speak, whether accidental or intentional. Write 500 words displaying this in a character.
