The 2011 Validation Tickets, Part I of III

It’s time to hand out Validation Tickets, The Parking Lot Confessional’s very own blog awards. We’ll be handing them out all week long, so stay tuned.

Last year, we focused on awarding group blogs. This year, we decided to widen the field to include any sort of writing blog that we find consistently enjoyable and want to recommend to our readers.

So without further ado, here are my Validated blogs:

The Zoë-Trope YA author Zoë Marriott writes, hearty, thought-provoking posts on the craft of writing as well as the occasional blistering editorial. Be sure to check out her recent post, You Can Stuff Your Mary-Sue Where The Sun Don’t Shine. I loved every word of it.

Terrible Minds Author Chuck Wendig always tells it like he sees it, in the saltiest and most hilarious manner possible. After I read his post Repeat After Me, Writers: “The Penmonkey’s Paean”, I printed it out and hung it on the door to my office. I read it every time I need a swift kick, and it never fails to deliver.

a little imagination  What makes Annie Bellet’s blog stand out to me among other new writer’s offerings is a simple but genius idea- every month she posts the sale stats on her e-books in an attempt to analyze what sells and why. Annie is currently attending Clarion, so anticipate seeing her byline in the pro SF/F mags soonish.

Congratulations to all! Thank you for making me laugh, making me think, and making me write.

For the Validated- If you accept the award (please do), just save a copy of the graphic and post it on your blog. Then pass the award along to a few of your favorite blogs to keep the love flowing. Be sure to leave comments on the blogs you choose, letting them know you gave them an award.
