500 Club (11/15)

Thursday rolls around again, and so do a new set of writing prompts. For all you NaNoWriMo participants out there, keep it going. You’re halfway there. Why not cleanse your writing palate with a quick 500 words of something else. We’ll even help get you started.

Yes, there are rules:

  1. Write 500 words based on one of the two prompts below.
  2. Post it to your blog.
  3. Give us a small taste in the comments below along with a link to the full text.

On to the prompts.

1. Finish This Opening: Stan had waited months to get a table at the new restaurant downtown, but nothing prepared him for what the server put in front of him.

2. You had ONE job!: Sometimes the best laid plans lay in ruin due to one simple mistake or happenstance. Write 500 words about that little mistake or happenstance.

*Oh, and as always, feel free to change character names and genders as you see fit. After all, it’s your story.
