500 Club (12/6)
Things are starting to finally cool down here in the desert. Though there’s no snow, you can no longer fry an egg on the sidewalk. Just in time to string up those lights. With that kind of distraction, it might be hard to get a creative thought out. Here’s your weekly dose of prompts to help you out.
Yes, there are rules:
- Write 500 words based on one of the two prompts below.
- Post it to your blog.
- Give us a small taste in the comments below along with a link to the full text.
On to the prompts.
1. Finish This Opening: It was insane to think that the words Kevin spoke would come to pass five seconds later, but they did. And of all the things to say.
2. No Secrets: Some writers like to hold things back from the reader in order to get a reaction at the end of their story and can leave the reader feeling betrayed. Instead write 500 words starting with revealing that secret, and keep it interesting to the end.
*Oh, and as always, feel free to change character names and genders as you see fit. After all, it’s your story.
