500 Club (2.7.13)

Happy Thursday!

Changes in the weather has me in mind of how things can differ with one simple thing. Here in the desert we’ve gone from the high forties to the low seventies in a matter of days, putting me in a confused state when choosing pants or shorts to wear. Then going right back to the lower temperatures, repeating the confusion cycle.

One thing it has done was give me an idea for today’s prompts, and to get the full effect, I suggest doing both.

Just a few rules:

  1. Write 500 words based on one of the two prompts below.
  2. Post it to your blog.
  3. Give us a small taste in the comments below along with a link to the full text.

On to the prompts.

1. Write 500 words based on a character that recently discovered something had been stolen from him or her.

2. Writing Challenge: Rewrite the your 500 words from the first prompt by changing one key element, be it the character, the item stolen, or whatever, but it has to be important to the story. Don’t just find-and-replace a word. Actually re-imagine the story based on the thing that you’ve changed.

*Feel free to publish one or both prompts today. If you only do one, at least explain in the comments why you went with your particular piece.
