Ready for Skin Game

If you’ve been around the Parking Lot for while, you know I’m a pretty big fan of Jim Butcher. Some might say I go on and on and on about him. So it should come as no surprise that I’m about to write a little more about him. At the end of this month, twenty-five days as of this post, Jim will be releasing Skin Game, the fifteenth novel in The Dresden Files series.

I don’t know about you, but I already have a copy on order. Not to stop there, I’m also re-listening to the audiobooks to prep for the release. James Marsters does an incredible job at reading them. Most people might recognize him as Spike from Buffy and Angel. To me, he’s the voice of Harry Dresden. We won’t discuss the one he didn’t record.

Is my geek showing? Oh well, what’s the point if you can’t let your geek peek once in a while.

Over at Jim’s website they’re amping the anticipation as well. Leading up to the release date, they’re posting a chapter a week for five weeks. Right now it’s up to chapter two. Personally, I’m going to wait for the book before reading, but for anyone new to Dresden, I recommend giving those sample chapters a spin.

Then a week later, with book in hand, I’ll ask him to sign it. Jim will be attending the Phoenix Comicon this year, the local comic book convention where I’m at. (Oh, and if you scroll to the top of the authors list there, you might see a familiar face.)

I’ll let you know how it goes. In the meantime, what are you looking forward to? Anything in the near future? Let me know.
