500 Club (8.7.14)
Summer time’s final phases are marked by the first days of school, a time equally lamented by kids as cheered by their parents. The days are already getting shorter, even though the outside temps keep climbing higher. It’s far too easy to allow your creativity to wilt in the lagging heat, but I’ve got a little something to help it along.
- Write 500 words based on one of the two prompts below.
- Post it to your blog.
- Give us a small taste in the comments below along with a link to the full text.
On to the prompts.
1. World-Building: In 500 words create a world while telling a short story. It is much harder than it sounds, especially if the world is to be convincing.
2. Talking Rocks: Write 500 words from the point of view of something inanimate. Be it chair, car, or city, make it interesting.
As always, throw out the obvious. Embrace your creativity and try something new. And above all, have fun with it.
