500 Club (7/1)

A little late today with the 500 Club prompts. Sorry!

First, a recap of how this works:

  1. Write 500 words based on one of the two prompts below.
  2. Post it to your blog.
  3. Copy the first couple of lines in the comments below with a link to the full text.

OR…

If you don’t have your own blog or website, and you’re just dying to play along, now you can. In the sidebar on the right you’ll find a text box where you can paste your 500 words and submit it straight to us. So go for it!

Here are today’s prompts:

1. Write a scene involving two people who are doing everything they can not to say the one thing they both know needs to be said.

- OR -

2. Write a scene in which a character eats his or her last meal. Utilize all five senses.

    If I’d known that was the last gordita I’d ever eat, I would have really tasted it, you know? I would have paid attention. The crunch of the shell and the cool tang of the sour cream. I would have sucked the hot sauce from under my nails.
