500 Club (12/9)

It’s Thursday again. And you know what Thursday means. That’s right.

The 500 Club!

Here’s how it works:

  1. Choose a prompt from the two provided below.
  2. Write a 500 word story in response to the prompt.
  3. Post the story to your blog.
  4. Paste the first sentence or so and a link to the rest in the comments here.

OR…

If you don’t have a blog, copy and paste the story in our handy-dandy doodlybob thingamajig over on the right. See it there? Good.

Ready to write? Here are today’s prompts.

1. Write the not-so-well-known story behind your favorite holiday song.

-OR-

2. Write a story beginning with the sentence: “If [CHARACTER] heard [SOUND] one more time, [HE/SHE] would [ACTION].”

Remember, the point is to stretch your writing muscles and have fun. Don’t worry about typos or rough sentences.

Happy writing to you!
