500 Club (1/6)

Welcome to the first Thursday of the new year! What better way to celebrate than with a burst of writing generated by one of two prompts here today? Let’s get to it.

First off:

  1. Write 500 words based on one of the two prompts below.
  2. Post it to your blog.
  3. Paste the first few lines in the comments below along with the URL to the complete text.

With that out of the way, it’s on to the fun stuff:

1. He couldn’t believe he dropped it. On top of that, he’d have to reach in there to get it back.

2. The spine popped as she opened the old photo album. It had been years since she had looked at it. All the same, the memories hit here as hard as if she were still there, posing for the shot.

I can’t wait to see what you come up with. Good luck and I’ll meet you in the comments.

Frustration and fear pulsed through his veins. Steve reached into his pocket for his trusty bottle of hand sanitizer. “I better start keeping gloves on me,” he muttered to himself. He sanitized his hands for good measure, dropped one knee to the ground, shuttered at the thought of what his knee was sitting in, then reached into the germ pit to retrieve the jewelry box.
